Kingfishers seem to have a lot of fun. I’m not sure this is really true but they surely raise a racket while flying overhead and then they dive with precision to catch a fish we can’t see but only imagine. They sit on the wires above our heads or perch on dead trees around our marshes and ponds but they are always alert, always aware. In spring, summer and fall you can pretty much count on seeing at least one kingfisher near any body of water, fresh or salt water, that you visit here on Cape Cod.
Printed on archival Epson matter paper this print is from one of my watercolors and part of a larger series I did featuring birds common to our area. The image area is approximately 7.5 x 9″ and is printed on an 8.5 x 11″ paper so there is plenty of room for matting. I love these little guys and hope you do, too.
