Is there a more quintessential image of a Cape Cod beach than a bunch of sandpipers running down the beach? These little guys aren’t running, but taking a bit of a rest. Their lovely colors blend so nicely with the sand and the stones that often people walk right by them when they are standing still. I draw and paint a lot of different shorebirds but this one is one of my favorites.

Printed on archival Epson matter paper this print is from one of my watercolors and part of a larger series I did featuring birds common to our area. The image area is approximately 7.5 x 9″ and is printed on an 8.5 x 11″ paper so there is plenty of room for matting. Shorebirds of all kinds are among my favorite subjects and this one is one of the more popular images I have painted over the years.
